The Department of Medical Devices Technology Engineering was established at the Technical Engineering College of the National University of Science and Technology in the academic year 2021-2022. The department is one of the most significant departments within the college and university, specializing in the maintenance and development of laboratory and medical devices. It aims to prepare graduates to work in governmental hospitals and the private sector.

The department strives to provide an educational, technical, and research-oriented environment for students through modern programs and curricula that highlight the importance of this specialization. It emphasizes offering advanced scientific and practical courses, as well as applied research, to meet the needs of the labor market, foster collaboration with healthcare institutions, and contribute to improving the healthcare sector at the local and national levels.

Department Objectives The department aims to graduate applied engineers who are well-versed in modern applications and medical devices, enabling them to:

Install and operate medical devices, including diagnostic, therapeutic, and laboratory equipment. Contribute to and supervise the maintenance and calibration of various medical devices. Design, develop, and create replacement parts for malfunctioning units in medical devices.
